Digital Archive Projects

Many states and other groups have begin digitizing hundreds of thousands of photographs, drawings, works of art, maps, journals, documents, letters, diaries, etc. along with the related documentary evidence. It is hoped that by digitizing (and transcribing) these items and storing them in centralized databases, they can not only be preserved but made available to a far wider audience.
